Design

Important considerations when consider a new garden structure include the way in which the garden is used, the stylistic genre (formal or informal, modern or traditional etc.) and the way in which the garden space connects to the home or other structures in the surrounding areas. Both of these factors are subject to the limitations set down in the budget. Garden design features include the layout of hard landscapes, such as pathways, walls, water features, seating areas and terraces; as well as plants themselves, taking into account their horticultural requirements, season-to-season appearance, longevity, growth habit, scale, growth rate, and combinations with other plants and landscape features.
